1949 Print Egeskov Castle Funen Denmark 14th Century Renaissance XGH9 XGVC3 This is an original 1914This is an original 1949 halftone print of the Egeskov Castle, on the island of Funen in Denmark. This 14th century historic medieval castle is recognized as Europe's best preserved Renaissance water castle. The original structure was erected in 1554 by Frands Brockenhuus. The castle is comprised of two long buildings, which are connected by a thick double wall, which enabled residents to abandon one building and relocate to another during war time.
