Spencerian Penmanship Notebook, c. 1880s, With Good Words, Phrases and Juxtapositions paint jars largely because in my mindOne of two late 19th c. penmanship notebooks I'm listing today, both recently found in Pennsylvania. There's often one particular page that sells me on one of these in this case it's the page of Hush, Hush, Hush followed by Kink, Kink, Kink! Ah, the resonance of found language. Of course I do like "Delays are Dangerous," "Onward and Upward," Quay combined with Zodiac, and this particular student's hand on Teach, Teach, Finch, Finch, too. 8 9 16" x 7".
