"John Wayne's favorite gun!" This fine rifle is in the legendary . 44 40 caliber (Marked 44 W. C. F above the chamber) with a classic 24 inch round barrel and full length magazine tube. Features the classic front sight and the iconic "Buckhorn" adjustable rear sight. Serial number 23873 denotes year of manufacture as 1893. The address marking on top of the barrel is still legible, but faint, so it needs good lighting
