This particular fine quality etched bladed bayonet was intended to actually fit onto the Mauser 1871 Rifle which is unusual as many were never machined to fit and also lacked the catch assembly

the 29th Division garrisoned the German port of Bremen

The interior bears a dedication to GEN’L BURGOYNE

with the stock partly proud over the lock plate in the front

Only a bit of the white  enamel is missing at one of the corners

This is a piece of the Canvas Cover for a German WWII half track vehicle, measuring approximately 27" square, which is hand painted with the classic German Balkenkreuz (Beam Cross) insignia used on vehicles and aircraft.
