It measures 7" long x 2 3/4" wide x 3/4" tall

I don't believe it is very old (I found another with the same fox and a pewter lid being sold online by a German importer)

I am not entirely sure of the stone; it may be marble but I'm not quite certain. The white irregularities seem for the most part to be indigenous to the stone rather than dings to the surface, though
