This is a tremendous plaque with bits and pieces of battlefield relics picked up by British soldiers, along with battle annotations, sent to Elizabeth Trimble by an Army officer in France in recognition of the comforts sent to his men by her Voluntary Aid Detachment working group. Comforts were scarves, balaclava helmets, gloves, socks, etc. The shield measures 7 x 10 and includes a scroll reading 1914 15 16 indicating
