Instituted 9 June 1857 by Prince Friedrich Gnther. (1857 1918 issue). Constructed of silver, on loop for suspension from a triple oak leaf clasp bearing dates 1914 1915 with a reverse integral loop, the obverse of the medal bearing a raised Schwarzburg lion rampant, circumscribed by an inscription of FR TREUE UND VERDIENSTE (FOR LOYALTY AND SERVICE), the reverse bearing the raised monogram of Prince
