Instituted September 1st, 1939 (Cross), Instituted June 3rd, 1940 (Oak Leaves), Instituted July 15th, 1941 (Oak Leaves with Swords). (c. 1970 issue). Constructed of silver, consisting of a Cross Patte with a blackened nonmagnetic core situated within a ribbed and silvered frame, the obverse with three central oak leaves, the six oclock arm with a reinstitution date of 1939, the reverse six oclock arm
