Constructed of gilded zink, the obverse consisting of a shield bearing a raised anchor, propeller, and edelweiss, representing the Kriegsmarine, Luftwaffe, and Gebirgsjger, respectively, flanked by a date of 1940, topped by a raised inscription of NARVIK and a German national eagle perched on top of a wreathed swastika, affixed with all original reverse attachment prongs to a zink backplate and dark blue wool backer, the shield
